Watercolour Painting Holidays - A few ideas and suggestions to help you choose a place to stay, please ask if you need any help.
Noth Portugal is probably one of the most beautiful places in Europe and therefore makes for a fantastic painting venue.
Ponte de Lima is Portugal’s oldest village.
Founded in 1125 on the Rio Lima which flows into the sea at Vianna de Castello around 30 klms to the west.
Beneath the lush green rolling hills lies an abundance of granite, as a result this beautiful stone has given the area its characteristic buildings , bridges, columns and walls.
The town was once the retreat for the wealthy citizens of Porto. They built vast estates and vineyards now producing the region’s famous ‘vino verde’ wine.
Popular with tourists there is therefore a huge variety of guest houses, hostels and also hotels in the area.
My watercolour painting courses are held 5 mins walk from the town centre.
Ponte de Lima has everything you need, an abundance of restaurants and cafes, shops, museums and a theater and is also a stopping place on the famous Camino de Santiago.
If you are walking the Camino or ‘The Portuguese Way’ as it also known, why not stop off en route for a few days painting while your feet recover?
