My Watercolour Green Mixes

Greens are famously tricky to paint, often looking garish and in need of neutralising with something a little redish.

By mixing your own greens (as opposed to a convenience green such as ‘sap green’) using a blue and a yellow you avoid producing a painting with over repetative colours.

Having said that i am personally leaning towards using viridian but always mixing it with a blue, yellow or brown, never straight viridian on paper.
