It’s the darks in watercolour that give your paintings punch.

It’s the diference between an amateur and a pro.

Juicy darks – Burnt Sienna is my favourite  – leaning towards blue for cool darks , more brown for warm darks.

It is possible to mix some of the examples below much darker than these, try them yourself!

Colour pigment abbreviations as follows:
